Paris Fashion Week Face-Off: Street Style vs. Runway

fashion Fashion

Sometimes it’s more entertaining to watch the show on the street than it is to watch the show on the runway. That’s how I felt during Paris Fashion Week, especially any time I spotted a well-heeled attendee who hadn’t been dressed by a brand (a trend that has gotten more and more common over the years). On the runways, we saw bags on chains at Nina Ricci and Valentino, oversized clutches at Balenciaga, and scarf-wrapped handles at Louis Vuitton. Lovely as those may sound, I was much more enamored with the Gucci, J. W. Anderson (of both the eponymous and Loewe variety), and lesser-known designer bags running around town. Sure, Saint Laurent’s Fall ’16 heart-shaped mini on a chain intrigues, but how much more fun is it to see this woman above pairing her circular Chanelicon (at Chanel for $1,800) withMarques’Almeida denim and a Mickey Mouse iPhone case? Scroll through photos below and vote in the poll to let us know whether you think the street or the runway won Best in Show!

My favorite! Caroline Issa always gets it right. A textured and detailed coat enhanced by casual jeans and an Anya Hindmarch Fall ’16 bag.
